NURSERY NEWS – November 2026
Our Room Topics –

Baby Moons – This month in Babies, we have been
learning all about the weather, with a particular interest
in the wind. The babies have been fascinated by watching
the trees sway and the leaves move around when the wind
blows. To explore this further, we headed out into the
garden to investigate the wind. We collected leaves and
enjoyed throwing them up into the air, watching with
curiosity as they floated, fluttered and blew away in
different directions. We also used our sensory scarves,
waving them around and watching how they moved and
danced in the wind. The babies loved seeing the scarves
flutter and feeling the breeze as they moved them
through the air and exploring the world around them,
using their senses, developing their curiosity and
discovering more about the weather through fun, hands
on experiences

Teenie Moons- This month in Teenie Moons, we have been enjoying lots of exciting autumn-themed activities! We have been getting creative by making our
very own pumpkin crafts using different coloured crepe paper and glue sticks. This was a fantastic activity for developing our fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and creativity. We have also been busy decorating our autumn tree on the tuff tray by sticking on lots of beautiful leaves. We have had lots of fun exploring pumpkins! The children enjoyed scooping out the insides and carving their very own cute pumpkin faces. During this activity, we talked about different body parts such
as head eyes nose and mouth and explored where they are on our bodies, encouraging the children to develop their understanding through discussion and play.

Mini Moons- This month, we have been thinking about what we might like to be when we grow up! We have been exploring different jobs, focusing on the important
roles of dentists and gardeners. The children have been learning about what dentists do to help us look after our teeth and why good oral hygiene is so important. We have also discovered the role of gardeners, exploring how they
care for plants, flowers and the environment around us.Through these experiences, the children have been developing their understanding of different occupations, learning about the people who help us in our community and discovering how different jobs contribute to the
world around us. We have also been building our communication skills, sharing ideas and using our imaginations through role play.
We have been making the most of the changing season by
getting outdoors and exploring all the wonderful signs of
autumn. The Mini Moons have been noticing how the environment around us is changing, particularly the
beautiful colours of the leaves. We have enjoyed going on
our very own leaf hunts, collecting and investigating the
different leaves we find along the way. We have been discussing the colours we can see, noticing differences between leaves and exploring how they change

Full Moons- This month in Full Moons, we have been exploring different forces, such as air and water, and investigating how they can make things move. We have enjoyed taking part in different hands-on activities and experiments to help us understand these forces,
including our floating and sinking experiment, where we
explored which objects float and which sink and discussed why we think this happens. We have also been focusing on developing our numeracy skills through a variety of fun, practical activities. The
children have been using rulers, tape measures and weighing scales to measure different objects, compare sizes and weights, and explore numbers in everyday situations.
