Our Room Topics –
Baby Moons – The baby moons made Christmas card and Calanders we also made salt dough hand print decorations where the children enjoyed mixing and pouring the ingredients. We also made a sensory tuff tray where we had different animals and different textures for where each animal stayed, the children really enjoyed exploring the different textures.
Teenie Moons- Tennie moons have enjoyed exploring in the garden outdoors at the mud kitchen creating yummy recipes using loose parts for example with leaves and stones. We have enjoyed lots of Christmas crafts in December using different colours of paint. Craft materials like tissue and crepe paper. We practiced lots of hand eye coordination’s through gluing activities when we made our Christmas tree on the tuff tray. Teenie moons also made salt doh Christmas ornaments to decorate with family at home for their Christmas tree.
Mini Moons- The mini moons have enjoyed taking part in a variety of different Christmas themed activities, such as arts and crafts, making decorations to take home and for in the room and exploring Christmas themed tuff trays. This has been supporting their fine motor, sensory and creative skills. The mini moons have also been expanding their play from indoors into outdoors. As the children have shown a great interest in cars, we build our own car in the garden. We also took our painting outdoors onto the big rock and explored painting on a larger scale and on a different texture.
Full Moons- December was a busy and exciting month in the Full Moons Room, filled with festive fun and lots of learning. The children enjoyed taking part in a variety of Christmas-themed activities, including arts and crafts, where they explored different materials and expressed their creativity. One of the highlights was making salt dough decorations, which the children loved shaping and later painting with bright colours. Alongside our festive activities, we continued to support the children’s early maths and understanding of the world. The children have been learning more about numbers, months, and seasons by creating their very own calendars for 2026
